My love of our multigenerational small Hereford beef farm has offered lots of opportunities to photograph the things I love - like farming, cattle and cats!
So, after 17 years working in advertising, I decided life’s too short and I needed to do something I love! That’s how Muddy Boots & Whiskers started.
I am a marketing professional by education and a photographer by trade. Prior to starting Muddy Boots & Whiskers, I worked in advertising for over 17 years after graduating with a B.S. in Marketing. I am a trained photographer having worked with many professional photographers including a portrait studio started by my grandmother and now owned by my mother.
I love farming AND I understand business and marketing.

I can't thank Tara enough for spending a few hours photographing my daughter at two separate locations - Centennial Acres in Forreston, IL and at the Ogle County Fairgrounds. She created an amazing collection that shows the relationship between my daughter and the horse she rides and takes lessons on. While this is not our horse, her images show the bond these two have. I am blessed that my family will have these memories as pictures in our home and as gifts for loved ones for a long time to come.
