I am a marketing professional and photographer by trade. Prior to starting Muddy Boots & Whiskers, I worked in advertising for over 17 years after graduating with a B.S. in Marketing. I am a trained photographer having worked with many professional photographers including a very reputable photography studio in Freeport, IL which was started by my grandmother, a Master Craftsman by PPA, and is now owned by my mother, a Certified Professional Photographer by PPA.
I recently left a career in marketing and advertising to pursue my dream of working alongside my husband on our beef cattle farm in northern IL. I have always loved animals having grown up with horses, cats, dogs, rabbits, ducks and being a part of 4-H and Pony Club. I have an uncle who still grain farms here in northern IL. I have many fond memories of visiting his farm while growing up. So, yeah, I guess you could say I'm returning to my roots.
I hope my photography of all things farm, cats, cattle, nature, sunrises, sunsets, garden and rural life will evoke real emotions like putting a smile on your face, singing a song of joy in your heart and sometimes tearing at your heartstrings. And what's a farm without muddy boots and whiskers?!
While raising beef on our small family farm I am in awe of the beauty of God's blessings He displays for us everyday ... and if I pay attention I am humbled to be able to capture it in my photography for me and you to enjoy.
